Executive Board Duties

    President:
  • Preside over all general and executive board meetings
  • Coordinate activities of Chapter Executive Board (CEB) to ensure implementation of all internal and external tasks.
  • Present ideas and propose direction for the organization
  • Maintain open lines of communication with other CEB members
  • Delegate any duties he/she is unable to complete or is incapable of doing
  • Receive all officer monthly reports
  • Gather information for monthly regional report and any annual reports
  • Submit monthly report to Regional Chair
  • Serve on any additional campus committees or appoint a delegate
  • Develop and finalize general body and CEB meeting agendas in conjunction with vice presidents.
  • Maintain contact with Advisor and/or Advisory board
  • Serve as the official USF-NSBE representative at all functions or appoint a delegate

    Internal Vice President:

  • Preside over executive board in absence of the president
  • Chair the Program Zone composed of the committee chairpersons
  • Develop and evaluate programs in conjunction with committee chairs
  • Perform any assigned task delegated by the president
  • Gather information from other CEB members to develop a calendar for the academic year.
  • Submit monthly report to the CEB and regional Vice President
  • Responsible for all room reservations on campus

    External Vice President:

  • Make timely arrangements for NSBE trips to conferences
  • Handle all contracts, pre-conference meetings, airline reservations, hotel reservations, transportation for trips
  • Responsible for all regional and national correspondence
  • Responsible for community service projects

    Secretary:

  • Take accurate minutes at each general and executive board meeting
  • Compile the individual Zone Reports
  • Responsible for all correspondence
  • Provide all correspondence to president and appropriate CEB members
  • Copy and file all correspondence
  • Keep attendance at general and executive board meetings
  • Assist in agenda preparation
  • Maintain chapter office with respect to supplies, equipment, etc.

    Treasurer:

  • Maintain organization's financial accounts
  • Determine, along with the CEB, the allocation of NSBE funds
  • Aid the finance chair in evaluation and implementation of ideas
  • Submit monthly financial report to CEB and regional treasurer outlining allocated funds, corporate solicitations, working budgets, etc.
  • Responsible for the annual A&S Budgets

    Parliamentarian:

  • Maintain order in all general and executive board meetings
  • Be informed on parliamentary procedure
  • Explain any procedure or restriction when necessary
  • Direct any constitutional changes in conjunction with the historian
  • Serve as timekeeper in all meetings
  • Preside over elections process
  • Train delegates for participation in conference discussions and voting procedures

    Historian:

  • Maintain or begin chapter scrapbook that includes publications and information from special projects and activities sponsored by the chapter as well as photographs, programs, and workshop information from national and regional conferences
  • Keep photographic records of all USF-NSBE activities
  • Direct any constitutional changes in conjunction with the parliamentarian
  • Compile all information needed for Chapter Development Program packet
  • Serve as Publications Co-chair

    Pre-College Initiative (PCI) Chair:

  • Ensure that all NSBE Jr. school liaisons are keeping contact with chapters
  • Coordinate all events for pre-college students

    Publications/Public Relations Chair:

  • Work with Historian and Telecommunications chair to produce online newsletters
  • Develop and produce chapter brochure
  • Work in conjunction with the finance chair to produce resume booklet
  • Telecommunications Chair/Webmaster:

  • Maintain chapter homepage - update weekly as needed
  • Distribute any information generated electronically
  • Train membership in effective use of the World Wide Web

    Finance Chair:

  • Works with treasurer to develop and deliver corporate sponsorship packets
  • Works with public relations chair to compile and distribute resume book
  • Document and maintain all information on current and potential sponsors
  • Generate "thank you" notes and all other pertinent correspondence concerning corporate sponsors and advisory board members
  • Provide secretary with copies of all correspondence
  • Solicit, develop, and implement fundraising ideas
  • Reports to and works closely with the treasurer

    Programs Chair:

  • Coordinate all social and service projects with the vice presidents
  • Coordinate interaction with other organizations
  • Develop and organize workshop ideas
  • Coordinate specific functions for each individual academic class

    Regional Conference Chair:

  • Keep CEB and general body informed of Regional Conference dates, deadlines and scheduled events
  • Collect registration forms and fees in a timely manner
  • Works with the external vice president to make travel arrangements
  • Works with the external vice president to schedule housing accommodation for all planning to attend

    Membership Chair:

  • Works with treasurer to develop and deliver corporate sponsorship packets
  • Works with public relations chair to compile and distribute resume book
  • Document and maintain all information on current and potential sponsors
  • Generate "thank you" notes and all other pertinent correspondence concerning corporate sponsors and advisory board members
  • Provide secretary with copies of all correspondence
  • Solicit, develop, and implement fundraising ideas
  • Reports to and works closely with the treasurer

    Academic Excellence Chair:

  • Foster the ultimate importance of a strong academic performance
  • Develop and implement ideas that reward members who excel and improve
  • Work with PCI chairperson to help prepare middle and high school students for academic excellence
  • Support and promote all national and regional academic excellence programs
