I wish to pursue
a graduate degree in biomedical engineering. The area I am most
interested in is tissue engineering. I have done several research
papers in this particular area. The most recent paper I completed
was on replacement tissue for the heart. My mother and sister
are both nurses, and I feel that this personal connection with
the medical field along with my engineering problem solving skill
set would make biomedical engineering a perfect fit. My interests
in the field are wide ranging, therefore I am eager to work in
any capacity. I truly love engineering and all the challenges
that it entails. Graduate school is my first and last option after
graduating with my bachelor’s degree. The GEM fellowship
will definitely help me to pursue my dreams and I am grateful
for the opportunity to be considered as a prospective recipient.
