McGhee is
a Ph.D. student from New Castle, DE. She has a Bachelor of Science
Degree in Architectural Engineering and a Master of Science Degree
in Industrial & Systems Engineering both from North Carolina
A&T State University. Her first exposure to NSBE was as a
PCI Student with the University of Delaware’s NSBE Chapter.
Ultimately, She pursued an engineering degree at North Carolina
A&T State University and was affiliated with the student chapter
there. Realizing the importance of giving back she wanted to contribute
more to NSBE and shortly after enrolling at USF she volunteered
to serve as PCI Chair. Her contribution to NSBE will be her service
experience and leadership as Pre-College Initiative Chair for
the 2006-2007 academic year. In this capacity her goal is to engage
and utilize the talents of the chapter members in key efforts
that will strengthen the USF PCI program. Collectively NSBE's
goal will be to identify a pipeline of junior NSBE members who
will ultimately pursue careers in STEM disciplines. Her hopes
is for NSBE "to continue to develop as a dynamic organization
that is actively increasing the number of culturally responsible
Black engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally
and positively impact the community". Upon completion of
her doctoral degree her goals include pursuing a career in academia
where she will be involved in research, teaching, and community
service activities.
